About Us

I am first and foremost a father to Bennett and a husband to Sabra, my family is everything to me, and I couldn't do this without their support, this is a team effort!

I lived my early childhood with my brother and parents in a few states throughout the Midwest. I was born in Milwaukee, then we moved to Minnesota to be closer to family, then we spent 4 years in the St. Louis area before moving out to California in 1996 when I was just a teenager. I was an athlete in high school and have always been competitive in sport. I worked for Trader Joe's for almost 10 years after high school, it was a great job to get me through college and beyond. I met my wife there, and it solidified my love of food and to appreciate good ingredients. When I left TJ's, Sabra and I moved to Santa Rosa, CA, just north of San Francisco in wine country. This is where we really fell in love with fine food, we were blown away with the world class eateries and wineries that Sonoma County has to offer. We moved to Anthem, AZ in late 2016, 7 months before our son was born (via surrogacy by Sabra's best friend), and have been here ever since. 

In Early 2022, I went through a series of surgeries that prevented me from doing what I love most, exercising outdoors. This drove me crazy, and I became very depressed and frustrated. I have always loved to cook for people and had been toying with the idea of trying to make sourdough, so I decided to go all-in to see how good I could get at it. Creating a starter was step 1, and that took me a painful 3 months to master. After that point, I was able to make excellent tasting breads with varying visual appeal. Over time, the loaves became more beautiful, and I was giving it out to everyone I knew. Some people wanted to start paying me to make them bread items, so I took it as a challenge and accepted. Since then, it's been a nice side gig, and I cannot wait to see where it goes.
